Dimitris Bampilis
Theater Director
Dimitris Bampilis (b.1985, Athens), holds a BA in "Theatre Studies" (Patras’ University) and an MA in “Theatre Directing” (Thessaloniki’s School of Fine Arts) supervised by Michael Marmarinos.
He is interested in performing arts through a multidisciplinary practice (director, performer, dramaturg, photographer etc.) connected to theory and research with an emphasis on their relation with the social reality.
He has collaborated with Documenta 14, the Greek National Theatre, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre, Semio Theatre and the groups Noiti Grammi, ODC Ensemble, Per-Theater-Formance, BelleVille Collective, among others.
His collaboration with Vasilis Papavasileiou (GR), Wlodzimierz Staniewski (PL), La Pocha Nostra (MEX/USA), Marina Abramović and with the documentary-theatre collective Rimini Protokoll (GER) in Berlin, has until now marked his vision for theatre.
He is a co-founder of ΑΠΑΡÄΜΙΛΛΟΝ, a new space focused on performing arts research.
